Haven't bought it yet actually but the little I've heard sounded pretty good. What really suprised me is the new strenght and power in Joacim's voice, especially in hte more high pitched parts.

I'm confused, I've been on the forums for quite some time, and I would have expected you to have bought it instantly, Cecilia.

Oh, well, I was wrong : D

So one album that is this dark is not to bad, after all they have released a couple of "happy" albums. Mix them with No Sacrifice, No Victory (Glory, in Russia) and you will have the perfection and balance you need. :)

Yeah, that would be a great idea for the next album. We will only have to wait a year or two :|

Meh, it'll go fast, feels like Threshold came like... a week ago or something anyway. : P

We allready got the mixture so to wait another 2 years will be like nothing.

We got around 100 good HammerFall songs by now and 20 of them are dark :)

By the way: Pontus is a great replacement for Stefan IMO.

I totally agree with that one! I mean, Stefan is still one of my favourite guitarists ever (and the composer of In Memoriam, of course ♥) and I have to admit that I was quite suspicious about Pontus in the first place, but when I heard Something for the Ages I was like... phew. He can play, there's no doubt, and he really fits in the band. He seems like a perfect replacement.

Then, about the album... it's great, it's awesome, it's fabulous! Crimson Thunder and Glory to the Brave are probably still my favourite HammerFall albums but No Sacrifice, No Victory comes right after them, for sure. When Any Means Necessary was released, I didn't expect anything that great or unique... for some reason, it's one of the weakest songs on the album. In my opinion, I mean. And when I listened to the album for the very first time, Life Is Now didn't convince me either (... c'moon, it's pure Helloween, except for Joacim ) - but the rest of the songs were damn good! Well, Punish and Enslave... maybe not... and Legion's intro really gets on my nerves... but I love all the others anyway.

Between Two Worlds is a really strong, real and touching song, something that should have been done before. For me, it's the best HammerFall ballad at the moment. And one of the bests anyway. Something for the Ages has to be the second-best HammerFall instrumental ever, and My Sharona is definitely the best cover song they've recorded so far. And that silent part in the middle of One of a Kind is amazing! And so on, everything's working just fine... but I'm really surprised to see that people seem to think Hallowed Be My Name is boring or something. I learnt to like it very much after a while. But well... it just depends on personal taste, I guess.

So, the songs are really good. I've got nothing to complain about. And then there is Joacim Cans whose voice has developed a lot during his career in HammerFall - it keeps getting better time after time. He sounds great on the new album, and the other band members seem to be in order as well. There are some nice solos and riffs, Oscar and Pontus are a good team! I was somewhat disappointed with drums at first... but I guess they're okay anyway. And I really don't know much about musical theory so I technically can't judge anyone. :'P Anders is a great drummer, I do know that.

I'm satisfied with this new album. Very satisfied.

No Sacrifice No Victory is amazing. In my opinion, their best work ever. Any means Necessary is my favourite song. Pure amazingness.

I wasn't disappointed by the drums, I knew from the beginning that they would be... well, Hammerfall-style drums. Which means in common tounge, simple.
Anders can do alot better, but I don't think he is allowed to really go mad on those drums.
