Hello,
I just wanted to write a line to express my gratitude to Hammerfall.
Can one thank an artist for doing what he is unable to do without? Gratitude may not be the right word; but though my passion is writing, I cannot, in this case, find “one” right word to express my feeling.
Please allow me to explain…
The fact is that, when I write, I need music. I adore listening to music as much as I do reading a good book. I write a lot, and so need a lot of music, and consume large quantities of it.
I say “consume” because generally, once I’ve listened to something for too long, it becomes old and looses much of its energy - that same energy that I feed on and carries me, and my characters, through their respective adventures.
However, this is not the case with Hammerfall.
The music and lyrics touch me so deeply that I never tire from it. Hammerfall has given me hours upon hours of inspiration, and is still doing so – and, I have no doubt, will continue to do so forever (well until my time, here, is up).
And it’s not only a question of the music and lyrics being of good quality – though it all certainly is.
It is the heart, the intensity, the honesty, and beauty, really, of the truth behind it all.
The references to the Germanic Mythology, and to the philosophy of those who believe and live by its precepts, are so rich in Hammerfall’s music that I feel lucky that I was born in time to be able to hear and appreciate it.
It’s nice to know that others, too, have not forgotten.
The Gods must be proud indeed when they look down on Hammerfall.
Farewell
