Post Record shop
Where do you buy your CDs, Vinyls, DVDs or mp3s? Do you order online your buy it in a local shop? Which one is the ceapest and offers a good service?
What do you think about serveral online shops?

CD-wow is obviously one of the cheapest but they import the stuff from Honkong. I don't know much about all the import stuff but I wonder if the number of sales are added to the number of sales in Germany or in China. I don't like the thought that perhaps the CD is added to the chinese number of sales and because of that my favourite band can't get in the german album charts.

That's why I buy my CDs in local stores, on Amazon.de or order it straight from the record label or band homepage. Finally it depends on the price where I buy it.

There aren't many real record shops for CDs and vinyls left where I live. I would prefer to go shopping in a record shop with good service instead of any big store of supermarket.

Amazon for everything. Cheapest place to buy from, lightning-fast delivery, no wasting of time by going to city and searching CDs. I'm too lazy for the good old music shops :P

Amazon isn't that cheap. Muse - Black Holes and revelations did cost at amazon 17,99 but in the store I paid only 14,99.
I noticed this many times.
Also I love to buy CDs in the shop, go proudly with my CD home and put it in the player. I don't have to wait for 3 days for it. :D
Unfortunately most stores and record shops here don't have the music I want.

That's why I check all release dates out and call the shop to let them know that I want buy **album** on **date**. The poor shop assistant is quite often overwhelmed. My taste is not mainstream enough.

Usually Amazon. To go to a mall with a music shop in it is about an hour drive and I usually just don't feel like making that kind of a trek when I can just push a few buttons and have it delivered to my door. Anyway when I do actually go to a music shop they never have any clue of the bands I'm talking about anyway. Hammer-who? Saba-what? I get stuff like that.

Most CD stores here don't offer a lot of metal cds (besides the more famous bands like Metallica or AC/DC, it's a big surprise when I can actually find albums from Saxon or Lacuna Coil in a regular CD store here). Other than that, CD stores here have an average price of 20 euros... For more specialised stores that do offer a decent collection in metal, it's an hour driving (which isn't really worth it, if you ask me, as ordering online and having it delivered here is a lot cheaper).

I usually order my CDs at http://www.large.be or http://www.nuclearblast.de

True, that can happen. But for me it's not worth the few euro I might save on the rare occasions where amazon isn't the cheapest seller.
BTW: Muse... nice taste!

I usually order and buy my CDs in Ede, a village that can be reached by bicycle in half an hour from here. They're one of the best record shops in Holland, I figured out. The prices are fair, the personnel is nice... perfect.

But I also found out you can order metal CDs at the regular record shop (Free Record Shop). Sometimes it's quite cheap, so worth a try.
And sometimes I use bol.com. It saved me 10 euros lately :P

I buy everything from Swamp Music.
It is located near me and has almost every record on earth in their stock.
Also they promise to find any record on earth that is still manufactured for you.
They usually have the best prices but not always.
You can order stuff from them online or check the store or order the items at the store.
No delivery costs inside Finalnd too.

Such a shop sounds like a dream.

I'm often once a week in the city and can go to Saturn or Müller. Müller has a big range on metal and rock music here. They have more CDs from bands like Sabaton - Hammerfall than mainstream rock music. Price is the same like Amazon. Unfortunately they don't have free hand to order special editions.
