Post Other Communities and Social networks
Are you in other internet communities? What kind of communities?
What experiences have you made?
Do you like them?

I'm in a lot internet communities and recently I had a few annoying experiences.

And one more time I have to say,
This forum is soooooooo lovely! Nice design and nice people,...perfect! :D

Post Re: Other Communities and Social networks
I used to be a regular on the apocalyptica-forum in 2003... but that has gotten quite big, so a moderator was appointed (a forum member) and the place has gone downhill, so I don't go there very often anymore... too many people posting about usually rather standard things... also too many restrictions made by the moderator, if you ask me...

I'm also a frequent visitor on the Graspop forum since 2003 up until now, but that place is quite a mess right now. It also went downhill when there were too many members, but currently it's taken down due to a "lasting discussion" and someone who decided to drag a lawyer into it to force the organisation to do something about it... and they decided to close the forum for a while (not sure what's going to happen in the future).

But I have made a few good friends through both the apocalyptica-forum and the graspop-forum :)

And then there's this forum :) It's quite lovely indeed, I'm just hoping it will stay this way, given my previously mentioned experiences ;)

Post Re: Other Communities and Social networks
I've got four forums I'm (sort of) actively a member of.

First there's the biggest Grand Theft Auto forum of Holland, I was one of the first members (considering the current number of members). I sort of grew out of it, lots of teenagers around there (and the talk that goes with it... horrible). But that's not totally fair... I'm still a teenager myself :D Now I like to go there from time to time to post some sick replies.

Another is herzeleid.com, the unofficial Rammstein forum. I kinda love that place. Everybody is so cynical, the sense of humour is weird, sick... I love it!

I'm also a member of the official Rhapsody-site. Nice place, but everybody is too serious, and they don't really get my weird jokes. I even had words with Philippe Giordana (the only real member of Fairyland) because of that.

Finally, there's this forum. I have to admit this is my favourite. Maybe it's because I was here almost from the moment on that the forums went back online. Or because there are lots of women around, who tend to be more socialising. Consider it a compliment girls: you do make this forum more pleasant :D Of course I don't have to forget Peter (I like to crawl for admins).
Anyway, being that active on a forum usually means that you won't be ignored, I noticed. That used to be my problem with forums.
It would be nice to see more activity of course, but like this, it isn't that bad :)

I spend a lot of time on Pagan/Wiccan forums, MysticWicks Forum especially. I love MW. It's like my home. I also am an Iron Maiden Fan Club member and spend some time on the forum there.

This is actually the only music forum of which I am a member. For many years I've been involved with a group of folks that do storyboard style creative writing. When I say many years, well, some of us have been writing together for over 17 years now, having started out on AOL back in the stone age of the Internet. We were in on the first beta trials for chat. We've moved several times, and now have our own private forum for weaving our stories.

Also a forum for customer service folks to rant and vent. I, thankfully, am no longer in the service industry, but I still can commiserate and it keeps it in the front of my mind that I never want to be the "sucky customer". That particular forum is different from some of that sort in that the folks there truly believe in taking pride in their work, and giving excellent service. It's not "Oh, I got this jerk who actually wanted me to work today, can you imagine?" type BS.

I joined the Iron Maiden Fan club Forum and I post there regularly. I'm on Mystic Wicks Pagan/Spiritual forums. I love that one. I also have a long list of Asatru/Spiritual/Pagan Forums that I've joined. Too many actually. I'm on MySpace under the username, Whitewolf. I'm on Facebook, under the user name, Lady Whitewolf. And of course I am on this forum, which I really like a lot.
