Re: What makes you angry?
Oooo.... a place to rant, I needed a place to rant this morning.
Short Background- When there's no school the next day my kids, 13 and 18, can stay up as late as they want. Just don't be loud and wake me up, as I'm in the habit of getting up between 5:30-5:45am. End of background....
So... after a week of nearly sleepless nights (head just wouldn't turn off and I don't take pills to sleep when the kids are home), then a busy day running around Austin taking care of business and helping out a friend, I was in bed at an early hour last night, before 10pm. The kids woke me up four times, and only one was somewhat legit.
1)- Oldest killed a scorpion. Fine, we need to spray again, I agree. But I wasn't getting up at 2am and walking around inside and outside the house to do it. A note on the keyboard for me to find this morning would have been enough.
2)- "Can I have some cheese?" WTF? If it's in the fridge and I haven't told you I bought it to make something in particular, guess what, it's there to eat!
3)- Oldest needed meds for the nebulizer. Ok, somewhat legit, I obviously don't want the kid to have an asthma attack. However, at 18 he should damn well be able to keep up w/ his inhaler. No, this was NOT one of those "Mom, I can't breath" situations, just a "think I might need it later" kind of thing.
4)- "Can I sleep in here since oldest saw a scorpion?" Like my room has magical properties guarding against scorpions? Here's a clue- the last one I saw in the house was crawling on my arm, under my pillow. Yeah, they like my room as well as any other room in the house. This is the one, at 5am, that made me just give up and get out of bed. And yes, I've since walked the house and sprayed.
DIE, BUGS, DIE!!!
Yeah, lack of sleep makes me show my age and get cranky.
