 Elvenking
I didn't know them until today. I've checked out some of their songs and now "Neverending nights" got stuck in my head and I sing it along since then. Very catchy music.

 Re: Elvenking
Catchy indeed. But unfortunately nothing really memorable.

 Re: Elvenking
Holy shit! I expected everything but not this - Elvenking..live...freaking awesome! They were even better than the Poodles in my opinion (which were also great). At least Elvenking has sold more merch stuff than the Poodles. Too bad I couldn't get a T.shirt. They've put away all the Elvenking stuff after the Poodles played.

 Re: Elvenking
Apart from their latest effort Two Tragedy Poets (acoustic album), I once listened to some songs of their album The Scythe, and I can't say I was impressed. Later I saw that that album is widely considered as being their worst album. So I might check some of their other stuff some day.

 Re: Elvenking
Well, I think it doesn't matter. My brain has obviously memory space for only song or two songs and the rest of my brain is filled with AC/DC songs and facts. I could remember the song Neverending Nights until I listend to Sonata Arctica- Dont' say a word. At the moment my brain is filled with Don't say a word and The Winter Wake from Elvenking and I can't remember Neverending Nights anymore. I should do some brain training. But the really are really not memorable, I can't think of any other band at the moment which has as complicated lyrics as Elvenking's The winter wake.

 Re: Elvenking
... I have one album from Elvenking, "Two Tragedy Poets". But I've heard only one song, and I forgot what was it's name. Not that they're bad, but not something special, either. I don't really appreciate that kind of music. I don't know why.

 Re: Elvenking
Elvenking's lyrics are terrible confusing! Downloaded "Ask a silly question", and I wonder wtf is he singing about? Same with Neverending Nights. I really wonder how they write the lyrics! What the hell is going on in their minds? I can see them running towards me All the time they steal my dreams The ghosts of past and sorrow All the time they steal my dreams When I take a walk outside, whispers will surround my head I can hear the echo of my voice, a hundred times or more They shout, they carry on They whisper on my sorrow They shout all night long But the whispers will not end And the whispers will not end The ghost of past is showing me all the good times that have gone - Now just a shadow on the wall The rose is, so fragile, but still so everlasting The ghost of sorrow is recalling all the damage done Now just a brick off from the wall The rose is so strong but It won´t be ´till the end, NO!eh what???? Reminds me of A Christmas Carol! .... You've been playing snakes and ladders all your life You never thought that you were wasting all your time Now I'm gonna tell you: let's play "Pass the Pigs" So come on throw your pigs and win by reaching number six
A long time ago the gifts were given by the gods That day you didn't show your face at all Now I'm gonna ask you: where do you belong? The human being's supposed to be the best of all
The missionary position's leading back to number one You thought you had some points, but now you have none
You're just one of the bloody freaking mass The very best of the breed in your literature class..? My patience has been worn out by your self esteem How can you say Lord Byron used to play in your dream team?
Ask a silly question - Get a silly answer You comedy of contradictions is your final cancer If this is what you are, then I say: NO! If this is all you say then I say: NO! NO! NO!ummm...what? I remember a lot people who complained Dragonforce's lyrics are difficult and not catchy. Their lyrics are memorable compared to Elvenkings lyrics! Even Sonata Arctica (who have also often long lyrics) are more memorable than Elvenking's lyrics. If there was an Award for Most Mysterious Power Metal Lyrics, Elvenking would win it!

 Re: Elvenking
Well, here it's about the memories of the past (bad memories) which make you sad every time you remember that. And you can't get rid of them, so those "ghosts" of the past possess you and you just remember, and you're not able to continue with your life and your dreams normally. Every night you dream that thing from the past. And it seems like that condition will never end. But about the second text... I'm confused, too.

 Re: Elvenking
That makes sense! My first thought was that Christmas Story with the ghost of the past, the ghost of the present and the ghost of the future. I understand the thing with Snakes and laders but what does he mean with the game "Pass the pigs"? I don't know the game, so I don't understand it. Maybe the song is about a guy who thinks he is very special and a outstanding person but in truth he is an idiot? "The gifts were given by the gods"..."didn't show your face at all". Does it mean the person wasn't around when the gods gave human brain and intelligence? We should make a topic about analysing songs! It's fun to interpret strange lyrics.

 Re: Elvenking
I know that Christmas story Neither do I know the game "pass the pigs"... But that the song is about a guy who thinks he is very special and a outstanding person but in truth he is an idiot, that's what I thought too, yes, that's very likely In fact, the song is about it. Yes, I think so And we really should make the topic about analysing the songs! I might make it, just when I think of a song with which shall I start
