 Helloween
So. Helloween. What do you think about this German power metal band? I have to make a confession: I have mostly listened to their first two Keeper of the Seven Keys albums. I like the second one better. We Got the Right, I Want Out, Keeper of the Seven Keys, Dr. Stein... So many great songs! There is nothing wrong with the first one, either, I just don't like it that much. I've also listened to their debut album and later releases, but not very much. Keepers with Michael Kiske are close to my heart! Regarding Kiske... Which Helloween singer do you people think is/was the best? As I said above, I have mostly listened to the Kiske era, so he probably is my favourite. But then there is the grand master Kai Hansen - I absolutely love his voice! Luckily there's still Gamma Ray. And I also like Andi Deris' somewhat nasal voice. He is the one who has kept Helloween going on through all these years, I guess... Such a great singer. And hey, by the way (one more question! )... Since we are discussing on a HammerFall board... Do you like their I Want Out cover featuring Hansen himself? I do like it. It's musically very great. But, in my opinion, it cannot beat the original version. Okay, I will shut down... Just thought it would be nice to have an own topic for these pioneers of power metal.

 Re: Helloween
Dunno, it never touched my heart somehow. I prefer Gamma Ray But there are a few songs I really like, e.g. Falling Higher and Time. And absolutely great and hillarious: Laudate Dominum There you can see my favourite album as well: Better Than Raw.

 Re: Helloween
What makes Laudate Dominum hilarious? Just because the lyrics sound very christian?

 Re: Helloween
I AM a convinced christian, so that does not make it hillarious. Hilarious is the combination of a perfect ancient latin christian praise, clear metal music and Deris' weird vocals. It makes me laugh. And that's what any praise should do. You know what I mean?

 Re: Helloween
Ok I won't I don't really like Helloween's version. I got used to the HF-version of the song before listening the original version. I prefer HF's cover, absolutely. As for Helloween: I never really cared about them. But I should be grateful to them I guess, since they kind of invented Power Metal

 Re: Helloween
I did, too, actually... I mean, I heard HammerFall's version before I heard the original song, and before I even familiarised myself with Helloween. In fact, HammerFall kind of introduced me to this whole band. =P

 Re: Helloween
I Want Out has been remade into several covers among huge artists like Sonata Artica, HammerFall and even Gamma Ray (yes I know that Kai Hansen plays there)
and I love every version. But I'm not very into Helloween

 Re: Helloween
Unarmed-Best of 25th AnniversaryI can't wait for this crazy Helloween album! The new Dr. Stein version is really funny. Helloween are really brave! What do you think about their Best of album? If you haven't heard yet about the new album, then you should prepare yourself before you watch the video and check out their homepage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yUihyOKxww
