 Spiders
This question came to my mind after my mother thought it would be a good idea to get rid of spiders by sucking them into the vacuum cleaner. However, I'm standing against this method, because spiders are extraordinary tough creatures that could survive the conditions in the tube and the bag and could then later crawl out of it. And one out of two things in this world that I CAN'T STAND are spiders. (The other thing are doctors.)
So, I wondered about your opinion. I'm against.

 Re: Spiders
Yes, me too. Don't like them. In a way they're fascinating, but I'm not too fond of touching them. And indeed, they can survive vacuum cleaning.

 Re: Spiders
To me they're like something that came right out of a cheap American horror movie You think they can, too? Good thing I convinced my mom later to change the bag inside the vacuum cleaner...

 Re: Spiders
This technique is acceptable, though:

 Re: Spiders
^ I do think that works, yes... although I'm pretty sure if I try it, I still miss the spider and hit myself in the head with the vacuum cleaner I voted against: they'll just crawl out again. Also, by the time you get the vacuum cleaner, most of them will have run away anyway. I have a fly swatter nearby so I don't have to get too close to kill them, or in case they're out of reach. They say having a lot of spiders in your house means that you have a healthy house, but I'd prefer it if the spiders would stay where I don't see them

 Re: Spiders
In that case I prefer a sick, dirty house. I simply can't stand them.
Hm, if those are small spiders, I dare to kill them with a newspaper or something. On the other hand, if they're bigger than 3mm I don't dare doing even that.
They'll crawl back again. That's what I think too. By the way, that sentence sounds awful. Just try to say it out loud and in the meantime picture dusty spiders coming out of the tube.
Well look, yes, this method above is not safe but, let's say, if you manage to hit both spider and yourself in head with a vacuum cleaner it's still a success.

 Re: Spiders
^ True, just as long as the side of the vacuum cleaner that hits me, is not the side that has squashed spider on it

 Re: Spiders
Worst possible scenario (possible since spiders are enormously hard to kill): You hit him with a vacuum cleaner and don't miss, but he remains alive on it; then the vacuum cleaner falls on your hear with the side with the ALIVE spider facing down towards you.

 Re: Spiders
Usually I try to catch the spider and toss it out the window. I don't want hurt the spider. Sometimes I tell the spider - ok this sounds insane- if it stays away from my bed and me, it can stay in my room. But it always depends on the race of the spider. I don't mind most indoors spiders but there are some spiders outside which are really frightening
