 R.I.P Ronnie James Dioo So now it's confirmed through the internet, through his wife and through all my journalist friends..... Ronnie James Dio lost his fight against cancer today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

The band was laughing and Ronnie were making jokes. Later that night when Heaven and Hell played I was so struck by his voice and that I finally saw him live. The concert itself wasen't that good but the whole atmosphere was great. I meet him once and what I remember the most is that he was as short as me and just a fun little man with a big heart.  Ronnie James Dio, your voice and music have always inspired me to sing myself and you have always been a legend. Today the metal world lost one of its greatest. You were truly the rainbow in the dark! R.I.P

Re: R.I.P Ronnie James Dioo Very sad news  I heard about it right after the Nevermore concert, when they announced it in the venue... I knew he had cancer, but I didn't know he was doing that bad... still came a shock... am glad I still saw him live with Heaven & Hell last year at the Graspop festival... one of the best gigs of the festival that year...

Re: R.I.P Ronnie James Dioo He truly was one of the greatest metal individuals out there. He was Black Sabbath's second vocalist and did his own stuff. He was a true gentleman as well. I have the documentary Metal: A Headbanger's Journey where he actually had the narrator Sam Dunn and his film crew in his house. How many music artists will do that?
I give a big devil horns sign to this man. He will be missed.
