and of course with consoles you always have opinnions. and I do admit that these two are way more different than they seem.
The fact is ps3 is more expensive but the most efficent for it's price and now that I own one I can say I would have paid a double price and I still would be satisfied with it.
Ps3 is also great for any entertainment purposes be it surfing online (a lot easier than most think it is) listeing to music, watching dvds or blu-rays and photos. playstation store and network work well and updates are quite frequent.

All of those are included in xbox360 too. And you said that ps3 is expensiver than xbox.... wait the price of Natal...
