 Re: Edguy
My favourite songs from Tinnitus Sanctus are Nine Lives and Aren't You A Little Pervert Too?! When I saw them live in january 2009 I hadn't heard the Tinnitus Sanctus album yet, so I didn't know the songs, but Nine Lives made me sing along to it the first time I heard it, and it stuck... really like that one Maybe it's not their best album, but it's a good album...

 Re: Edguy
I like Edguy very much although I must say that the older albums are better than the last ones. Edguy is one of the best live bands I knew...Toby, the singer, is very funny and brilliant on stage. Last time I saw them live they started playing Hearts on Fire because Toby found an old Hammerfall setlist on stage

 Re: Edguy
^that's awesome. The guy's really original on stage. At the Rhapsody forum someone posted a video where Tobi found a mini piano on the stage and he started to play a Bon Jovi intro on it and they played the full song. And when they where in Sweden and they knew about HF members watching, they played a sample of Let the Hammer Fall.
But I must say that I'm a bit worried about their future musical direction. So far I only own Mandrake and Hellfire Club, and I find especially the latter super awesome. I'll give the older albums a listen later this month (and maybe buy Hall of Flames), but I already tried a considerable amount of songs of their two latest efforts, Rocket Ride and Tinnitus Sanctus. For some reason, it sounds totally boring to me, really uninspired and unmemorable, with only 2 or 3 exceptions.
And please note that I don't really mind a change of genre, because the genre that Edguy could be called now also appeals to me. But somehow I still find Avantasia awesome, even though it's from the same mastermind.

 Re: Edguy
The best song ever, "Life and Times of a Bonus track" it's the last song on the single of King of Fools. The song is hilarious! I also really like New Age Messiahs..."Who the fuck is Jesus?" Sometimes I wonder if Tobi suffers from megalomania!

 Re: Edguy
What to say about Tobi? Avantasia and Edguy are one of the best power metal bands ever!

 Re: Edguy
Avantasia is still metal, for the most part - agreed. But Edguy, from what I've heard from Tinnitus Sanctus, they're not metal anymore. Hard Rock at best. Strange when you realise that only 4 years before TS Edguy made a song like Mysteria...

 Re: Edguy
*prepares to contradict himself* I recently gave much of the tracks of those albums another listen (somehow I keep returning doing that again). This time I realised that I quite liked it. So now Tinnitus Sanctus is on discount, I might pick it up somewhere. After listening songs from TS, I have to say that there's quite a few metal songs on them. Especially Speedhoven, everyone who calls a song like that with double bass drumming not metal, is either deaf or stupid.
