Re: Who or what do you read?
At the moment I'm reading The book of crazy experiments by Reto U. Schneider. It's a collection of many crazy experiments of the past 700 years. Strange and funny. Some scientists are really crazy! For example they gave spiders drugs and coffee.

I read it in march, loved it So funny, and an original concept too, haha.

Re: Who or what do you read?
You guys here read more in 6 months than I did for the past 5 years. I used to be a huge fanatic of good stories- but i just got fed up- but I recommend checking out some HP lovecraft works too. I did manage to read the first book in twilight last year, it sucked so badly i ended up giving it away- because it was still in pretty new shape. You can go wrong with the Guinness World Records, or any encyclopaedia of whatever you're into- e.g. cars, guitars, fashion, technology etc. And a good romance/sex book always a good choice!

Re: Who or what do you read?
Right now I am reading a book of Petri Tamminen. A very interesting book. Basically he just shows that you can write a life very briefly but of life you could write for ages.
The book has lives of people. One life is very short and the reader has to take time to really understand it but once you do it is like getting to really know a person. At the same time even a simple and normal rough life can be very comical from that point of view and the book just keeps giving me very different experiences and it sure is interesting.

Re: Who or what do you read?
Sometimes I read several books in a month, and sometimes I read nothing for half a year. Right now, I read some book called "Runes", I've just started with reading, I don't know what is it exactly. My absolutely favourite book is Lord Of The Rings, all three parts and everything else from Tolkien, I've read everything from him. I have 3 books from Stephen King, but I haven't finished any of them yet I don't really like his way of writing.

I will soon get back to where I left reading Descartes. He sure had the potential but his surroundings made sure he never reached it.

Re: Who or what do you read?
I'm still trying to read Stephen King, but god, that man is boooring... His ideas are nice, but hell, he can prolong his descriptions and characters... Well, I haven't updated this for a long time. Actually, my favourite author is definitely Tolkien, whose LOTR, The Hobbit and Silmarillion I simply ADORE. Knowing details from his life, I must say that I adore his personality and interests more than anything, and assuming that I love languages, books, writing etc. he's my primary influence and image of perfection in my future. Focusing on languages, loving tales and myths, and inventing his own "mythology" (which I'm doing currently as well) is like a dream life for me... However, my second favourite author is Hermann Hesse. I accidentally read Steppenwolf last year, and once I did, I read it over and over 4 times. Later I read Demian, Siddhartha, Nar...(fuck, I don't know its name in English!!! In German, it's Narziss und Goldmund), and currently I'm reading The Glass Bead Game (correct title in English?). Actually, the thing I most adore here is his way of writing, so similar to mine, so easy to read and yet so beautiful... And the messages he sends through his books are great. One thing I can't stand in the world of books is Twilight saga. WTF?! Not to speak of something I haven't read, I borrowed it from friend and read the first part. Forget the unlogical, unromantical and totally boring and pathetic story, where's the quality of it all?! And there are so many things that don't add up with anything (vampires without blood - and yet, they can make a woman pregnant, have muscles and use them etc..?!)... I'll never understand how that shit became popular. Btw, where's Mayhem? I see his post here and realize he's been gone for quite a while.. Oh dear, my long posts started. Writer's instincts are floating onto the surface. Perhaps it's best for me to take a break from visiting the forum in few days...

Re: Who or what do you read?
I've recently read "the Eyes Of The Dragon" by Stephen King, never found it boring. Same with "The Shining". Then again, that's different for everyone. He doesn't really have all that much descriptions when compared to the old Latin texts we used to read in high school Once read a literal prozaic translation of the Ilias, talk about long descriptions Am wanting to read "The Gunslinger" by King, but I'm not finding the time to start...
