Post Computer and other technology
So, my computer makes funny noises and I expect the worst, which means my harddrive is going to break. Tomorrow I will open the case, if I'm lucky it's only the CPU fan. Anyway, I will look for new harddrives. Maybe I can install a second one and move all the data to it. I saved most of my data on a external harddrive but I hate installing programms and codecs (mostly codecs cause me trouble).
I know a little about all the hardware stuff and can fix it most times myself but when it is about installing OS' and new hardware without a computer magazine, I have no clue how to do it properly. That stuff was always done by my sisters ex-boyfriend.
Years ago I was really good with all that computer things but as my sisters boyfriend took over the job of updating and re-installing our computers, I became lazy with learning about the newest updates, which makes me feel like a fool.

What about you? How good is your knowledge about computer and technology?

Well, I know pretty much about computers and networks and such now, since I'm studying Technology/Computers on my school, and we've done many computer classes the last 2 years, soI have a pretty good knowledge nowadays.
Before I started this education I knew close to nothing, I knew how to install/uninstall programs, but that was just about it.

I would love to know more about computer and technology. I want install a second harddrive. I torture my computer really much with video editing and I'm worried the harddrive wear out sooner than usual. I'm kinda paranoid when it is about all my data. I save most of my data on an external harddrive but it's one of my worst nightmares to install all the networking things myself. It's really complex. My computer is connected with four other computers, a bunch of printers, various monitoring cameras, a dreambox amd nobody really knows how to install all the stuff again if one piece of this puzzle breaks.
Does anybody know if it's possible to move all system files to the second harddrive without installing all the system and programms again? My dad said he heard it was possible with Linux.

My husband works on computers for the power company, so I have become a computer retard. I used to know a lot more. I'd passed my CompTIA A+ and Net+ exam, but I've forgotten most of what I'd learned.

I made several websites myself but never uploaded them. I made a website for two dog clubs and a homepage for my mother. Since my parents are no longer members in those dog clubs, there is no need for the website.
If there were more german Hammerfall fans out there I would make a german fan site with forum but if there was a german forum, this one would become probably really empty and lonely.
Sometimes I wonder why I'm studying all my dad's books about adobe dreamweaver, Golive and stuff. In fact I have no use for it but whenever my dad gets new training books for Adobe software, I read them too.
I adore people who have skills in 3D editing and Flash work.

Though I have never used this program, I did hear about one called Ghost which will make an exact replica of your installed files onto another hard drive.
