Well I guess they want to expand their fan base and try something new and refreshing at the same time.

Little reply to this (apart from their reaction being not surprising): development is a good thing for a metal band. The question is (and is unanswered yet): are we talking about evolution or devolution? As I mentioned a few times before, I'll just wait for the music. One More Time is a nice song, especially the chorus is very Hammerfall-like.

Exactly. I stopped bothering about what they, themselves say, after everything they said that this is going to be the best HF album ever etc. They just don't want to lose their fans, that's why they write such things, if you ask me. Aww, too bad, I hope that one day they'll get back to the good old HF.... Oh, this has disappointed me so much, even though I'm trying not to judge anything yet...

I heard One more time twice sofar. I can't stop thinking about Iron Maiden whenever Joacim sings about the final frontier. The refrain is probably really good for live shows. Even if the people had one beer too much, they still can say "One more time" and if the beer wasn't enough they can sing "one more beer"
About the cover, I like it. It's not Hammerfall-like, it's not bad but I would love to see at least one familar thing. I don't care if it is a Hammer, Hector or familar font. Now the recognition value is like zero. Okay, the font looks a little bit Hammerfall-likish but it needs a closer look to see it.
I just had a look at the new merchandise. The Infected-Patch is cool but the girly shirts are boring. I hope there will be more new merchandise for girls.

I will wait until the album is released to form an opinion but I just hope Hammerfall doesn't alienate their hardcore fans as the Scorpions did with Eye to Eye, Def Leppard did with Slang and the way Motley Crue did with Generation Swine. I mean why try to please people that already don't like you. It seems to me you should try to please your hardcore fans. But either way I just finished listening to Glory to the Brave, Legacy of Kings, Renegade and Chapter V. Masterpieces!! So no matter how the new album turns out we still have the great albums that Hammerfall has released to fall back on.

The drummer in HF.

Well, I can understand your worries since there are changes in the cover and "One more beer" is a bit different than other songs, but I can assure you it's probably the best HF-record so far. My personal favourite record is "Legacy" and this one is equally good if not better.
It has faster song than ever and also really heavy ones.
Singing is great. Oscar plays better than ever, Fredrik kicks ass. Pontus plays good as always. It's back to the roots with a fresh twist.
