It's exactly like Andreas said. As child I was a huge fan of Vanessa Mae. I loved her music and wanted learn to play the same awesome instrument. Violen was like the God above all music instruments and who is able to handle this instrument must Godlike....my childhood views!

Keyboard is just a piece of plastic, you can't feel the keyboard in the same way like a guitar or violen. I always missed it to "feel" the music.

But if that was really your great wish, no matter what your reasons were, I still don't understand why you didn't even try to play it...

I really really feel the need to play a musical instrument for quite som time now. I'm dabbling almost every day with the tin whistle, but I want something more challenging. My biggest wish is to learn to play the drums, on the long term in a metal way (I already have alot of experience with percussion instruments), but it's not exactly for free. Do you guys have any suggestions for a poor student?

I also so desperately wish to play drums, but I have no idea where could I practice. Certainly not in my apartment. Now I have the sticks. But no drums. I'm trying to teach myself to play them on the pillows. Sometimes it works!

Well, play guitar instead. The fact is that the most of people know how to play it, but it's cheaper than the drums, you don't need so much space or so for it and you can learn how to play almost every song you wish. People like it, and when you're with friends, knowing it can always come in handy. No other suggestions, sorry.

The only suggestion regarding drums I have is: find a space where you can practice without driving everyone else nuts with the noise

I myself would like to take up singing lessons, however there is no room in my budget for now, and other than that I don't know any good singing teachers around here...

That place is the biggest problem for everyone. And besides, that place has to be large enough to put the drums there so that everyone can pass by them with no bigger problems.

And singing, yes, I'd like that too, but the teachers are the same problem in my case.

I recently brought my late grandpa's practice drum (a piece of wood with some artifical something over it) to my place, and I'm playing myself some marches from when I still was in a drum band. Very nice.

I was practicing drums on pillows, but I got bored of it. I was on some kind of small show in a club here in my town and I was standing just in front of the drummer, watching him play... I was SOOO jealous!!!
