Re: Hello from Croatia! Here, you can get ID card at the age of 15, the earliest possible age for that. But you get no benefits with it, except traveling without the passport. If you get it at the age of 16, you can maybe enter some clubs or something. But it isn't necessary at all, and most of the people I know don't have it. In fact, I think I don't know anyone under 18 that has ID card. Only at the age of 18 you must have it. Not that someone on the street will ask you about it, though, no. It's kind of relaxed atmosphere, people need it only to enter clubs, buy alcohol and get driver's licence, I think.  And to identify them if something happens, of course.
