Nah, I'll just say that I prefer my left index finger.

You know, thumb is fine also, just if you have wide enough nostrils.

My left nostril is more narrow than my right one. The seperation between them two has grown a bit wrong I'm afraid.

Plus, the index finger is more accurate.

Then use your thumb for the wider nostril. Well, index finger might be more accurate, but it's great for balance while you use the thumb as well.

Yeah, it could be if you put your index finger on the outside of your nostril, then your thumb has a better focus point. I use that technique frequently for my right nostril, and for the outer part of my left nostril.

Now, that's what I'm talking about! You see, thumb is great.

Yeah, but the piece that narrows my left nostril needs some special care, hence the index finger.

Guitar or nose pick?

Well, I know how that feels, while I was in music school I played classical guitar and there you don't use pick at all. The habit remained, and today even I mostly don't use picks. Sometimes, but I'm having better feeling and control of sound, and it's just easier (which is not the case with most musicians that started with rock, metal or whatever, and played with the pick from the start)
