I need to listen it more. First listen is positive, good chance for this year's top 3. It's a pity I don't know much about Swedish history, so it's harder for me to get into this. All their other songs where about events I could relate with in some way (WW1 and 2 fascinate me for years). But I learn a lot from their album.

By the way, the Amon Amarth cover is quite nice.

Favourite songs so far: Lion from the North, A Lifetime of War (English or Swedish... can't decide a favourite yet).

I haven't heard it yet, but I'm not sure what to think of the fact that suddenly 4 band members left

What do you guys think about Sabaton's new album Carolus Rex? :)

It's not their usual era but they covered it really well. There are a lot of songs that could make it to their top songs.
Listening to Swedish version is the right way of listening to this album. Even if someone doesnt understand anything (like me :( ) (s)he will be awed by it's music and lyrics.
They should definitelly make more albums in Swedish :D

Good thing they found replacements :)
Former members left the band because they could not longer stand being left out of the creative process (Joakim and Par write all the music and lyrics).
So now they have a new band called "Civil War". Even though they called it like that, they wont follow Sabaton footseps lyric-wise.

I honestly am not sure if it's such a good thing... They should have tried to work out any of the problems they had. I'll wait with my judgment until I've seen them live with the new lineup, but it just won't be the same. What made them great were the energetic live performances...

That's precious. I saw them three times in their original formation

But live is Joakim the main attraction, the other guys are ten a penny anyway. Except for Pär maybe, in the studio.

It helps that Sabaton loves Belgium ;) For some reason they always get a massive response here from the crowd, so they love coming to Belgium. On the most recent tour, they especially returned to Belgium for the final gig of the tour, and the concert sold out in one day's time

So they played on Sweden Rock days ago. One of my friends told me Sabaton's new line-up is quite good.
