No wonder, you are no native english speaker After a bit of searching through dictonaries to understand this, I can tell you that it was no insult to the Netherland but just a word similarity between dike (for the things saving your country from the sea) and dyke (a term for a rather manly lesbian if I'm right). Now imagine only dykes would save the Netherlands....
