 Re: Mediaplayers
Well I don't really see why people don't like Windows Media Player. It has always served me well.
But everyone has their own tastes with this kind of things.

 Re: Mediaplayers
I think it also depends on what you want to use it for... In my case it depends whether I'm on Windows or on Linux. On Windows I use Windows Media Player or Winamp, On Linux I used to use xmms but I have switched to Amarok recently. For videos it depends on what type of media it is (.wmv, .mpeg, ... ) which linux media player works best for me: totem, xine, gxine, mplayer, dragon, ...

 Re: Mediaplayers
I had for years Realplayer but I don't like software which tend to spy my computer out. Now I'm using VLC player. Does anyone know how to create skins for VLC player? Basically I prefer a simple player. I want only put a Hammerfall themed background on it and keep all buttons and the volume control. As far I've read, it's not possible to keep the old buttons. So I have to create everything new. I couldn't figure out how to create a such volume control myself yet. To be honest, at the moment I'm too lazy to create all buttons etc. myself. Can anyone give me an advice how to create quickly a skin or tell me how to create the volume control? ps. I have already installed VLC Skin editor.

 Re: Mediaplayers
I know nothing about skinning, but can you use a skin that is similar to what you have in mind? It would contain the buttons and everything, so you maybe just have to change the background pic.

 Re: Mediaplayers
I would like to have a skin with a volume control slider. Most skins have only a few dots as volume control but I try to make it myself. I've made already a bunch of buttons with Photoshop.

But Windows Media Player didn't serve ME well... It's not about the taste, I can't play some videos with it. I stick to VLC player

 Re: Mediaplayers
1. VLC media player 2. Classic Media Player 3. FLV player 4. BS Player Media Player can't play ".avi" files... to play these files you must to have one of the 4 up or other media player which support .avi file .avi file is the videos that you are downloading from the net (movies for example). If you want your Windows Media Player to play these files you have to download and install the K-Lite Codec Full Pack here http://www.free-codecs.com/k_lite_codec ... wnload.htm

 Re: Mediaplayers
But VLC player can play EVERYTHING (at least everything I tried to play), so who needs Classic Media Player?
