Olympos Mons is a Power Metal band from Hanko, Finland.
They all are experienced and extremely skillful players.
the name comes from a big volcano on mars.
The music is usually quite fast emotion filled and songs have usually medeval or romantic themes.
They have some symphonic arrangements in their songs.
What I personally like in their music is how they add some heavy guitar parts and thrashy riffs to the power metal.
the band has released only 2 albums and the third one has been in the works for a while now.
The First one released in 2004 was called: "Conquistador" is more typical power metal package and filled with great stuff.
"Medevil" was released in 2007 and I prefer this one personally.

If you haven't heard of them I suggest songs like: Frozen, Black, Through the Ice and Snow, Lady in White and Medevil.
Also finding their songs online may be difficult but check their Myspace for infor news videos and a nice collection of full songs from Medevil (and Black from Conquistador)

Is the band still activ? They haven't any tour dates on their homepage.

Yes they're active allright. I don't know exactly how far they are right now, but a new album is in the works.

Last october they told they have started writing new material.

Too bad they aren't as creative as some other bands.
5 years and jus too albums and it will be 2010 when the next one will be out.
Luckily they have quite fast studio process and a record company already.

I always prefer quality to quantity.
