 Greetings From Texas
Hello All,
Well after lurking around for a bit I thought I might as well come out of the shadows and say hello.
About me... well, let's see. I'm a 46 yr. old Mom of two boys. Well, actually, one boy who's 13 and one young man who is 18. I work part time from home, thankfully. I'm a bit of gamer, an occasional writer, a voracious reader and full time metal head. Actually I enjoy most all types of music, blues, jazz, classical symphony, metal, old style rock, Southern rock, even a bit of outlaw country now and then, and just about anything in between. But in my heart metal rules.
We live in a small rural community in Central Texas, in the beautiful Hill Country. After growing up on the Caprock, which is dry and dusty and flat, I love it here with the trees, hills and lakes all around. Close enough to Austin that a day trip is easy to make, but far enough away from the hustle and bustles of city life that things are slower paced and more relaxed.
Pets? Ok, we'll go with pets next. We have one dog, Bingo. He's getting up in age now, so he's mostly content to lie around in the back yard under the tree and play the occasional bit of ball. Also have five cats, they are Sid Vicious, Moot Chicken (yes, there is a story behind that name), Johnny Rotten all out of my Lexie kitty, who we sadly lost to diabetes a couple of years ago. Then the two rescues, Clyde and GLU (God Loves U), and yes, there's a story behind that name as well, a much longer story with a wonderfully happy ending.
And I suppose that will do for starters!

...and since you're from Texas, you have 3 pistols, a sub-machinegun and a rocketlauncher (for self-defence of course) Anyway, welcome to the board So, what made you decide to join us? The fact that most of the active members are also women?

 Re: Greetings From Texas
Actually I'm down to just two pistols these days, and a couple of nice daggers. The rocket launcher and sub machine gun got lost in the move somehow. *whistles innocently*
Now why does it not surprise me to learn that most of the active members are female? I thought it would be nice to talk to some folks with the common interest of HammerFall in particular and metal in general. Sadly, where I live, most people look at you strange when you mention Europian metal, and the only people around here I know who enjoy HF are the ones who learned about them from me. So yes, I'm spreading the word in my small rural Texas backwater!

 Re: Greetings From Texas
Thank you, sir. One of the things that made me decide to take the plunge and join at last was the level of civility I see here. Flames and trolls are annoying creatures, and it's wonderful to find a place where they are not allowed to take hold and grow.

Welcome here! Always great to have some more girls around here - especially if they're beyond their 20th birthday If you're already such a great spreader of European metal, then spread the word of our nice little forum as well

 Re: Greetings From Texas
Thank you all for the kind welcomes. And Islane, I've sent my oldest the link, I'm sure he will at least check it out, and spread the word.
