Dethklok - Dethalbum II

Whether or not your consider Dethklok to be a real band, you have to admit that they're fucking awesome :)

Unfortunately I don't get round to buying many CD's nowadays. I simply don't have the time (much like why I'm rarely here anymore). I think that, if it were not for Spotify, I would not listen to any new music... I think I may buy a CD or two next week, so if anyone could recommend some decent power metal I would be happy :)

Excalion - Primal Exhale
An awesome album that blew my mind.
My face is just melted by some awesome solos in Megalomania and My Legacy and Obsession to Prosper.
I have never heard anything like that.
Also Temptation Wasteland took me by suprise. It turned out to be a killer song.
It is impossible to pick a bad song but overall some of them suffer of some too complicated structures.
It is not as ready, steady or complete creation as Waterlines but certaintly an amazing album that should be better available.

Firewind - Between heaven and Hell (re-release with also the japan bonus track along with the demo bonuses)
My first impression was that it is good.
Some great guitar work and well even though I liked the vocals on few songs a lot they did not impress me on some others.
The album has some variety but overall the songs are in a way pretty similar guitar driven usually fast metal songs.
The album is very raw and a bit amature but still it has some skillful execution of good songs.
It was where it started evolving and leading what it is nowadays. Certaintly an album worth making and most importantly worth listening.

Stratovarius - Elements pt.1 (original copy from 2003)
A lot more Symphonic than I expected.
A lot of really high vocals a lot of speed and a big bunch of great melodies and feelings.
A really good release. though I like pt. 2 just as much even though it has some not so good songs in it it still is awesome.
pt. 1 on the other hand has no bad songs. Yet it was a massive well executed masterpiece and will take some time to take form in my mind.

all this for less than 25€.
Admit it it was a real find.

I will come to write reviews for those two once I have some more listens through the albums.
So awesome!

^It's a pity they have politics as a subject. And that they're a death metal band :P

Anyway here goes:

Blind Guardian - Fly MCD
Olympos Mons - Conquistador
Revolution Renaissance - New Era (€7 :D )
Rhapsody - Emerald Sword MCD (for free, but without booklet)
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Night Castle
