I was so happy to hear they are going to be at ProgPower this September, but even happier that they are playing in Tampa (Ybor City) on January 19. UGH a TUESDAY!! I shall be dragging ass at work on Wednesday January 20, unless I take a vacation day.
They are a themed power metal from the Faroe Islands. Anyone else like TYR?

A friend of mine from football (or soccer, if you wish) has sent me all the songs of their new album. I like the music, but I have problems with their lyrical themes, and the cover of that CD isn't that nice either...

I actually love the Nordic mythology theme (but then again, I love mythology and Nordic mythology is one of my favourites) and I have to say I also love the album covers. I have seen them live as the support act for Amon Amarth in November 2006 (Wintersun was second support act on the bill that tour). They are ok, not one of my favourite bands, but I have nothing against them either.

Funny tho, I just got home from seeing Amon Amarth again (except this time the support act was rather boring).

Well, Northern mythology is fine with me (I like it even), but just look at the video of Hold the heathen hammer high. I don't like that attitude of "christians don't get agressive when we bash them and the rest thinks it's funny/awesome, so let's do it".

On this side of the pond Christians get plenty aggressive if bashed. Although, I really didn't take TYR in such a negative way.

Ah, cultural differences. Then you can see Europe is further in the process of civilisation than the USA

I do have the album on my computer though. It's just the general attitude I was talking about.

Tyr was great. The only bad thing was that they only had time to play 4 songs Every other band got to do their whole set. The club didn't have the kind of beer we usually drink and they like to shoo us out after the show so they can do the disco club thing. I did have a good time, though. At least when we see them again at ProgPower they will be able to do more then 4 songs.

Did they play Hold the Heathen Hammer High? That song's just awesome...

Yeah, that was the second song they played. My husband, Jim got some good pictures of them on stage. I'll see if I can post a few.

Do you have your pics on an internet site? If so, you put it between the "Img"-tags. So that's with an [/img] at the end and an [img] at the beginning (if I did it the other way around, it would say "image")
