 No Sacrifice, No Victory
So, there's been no forum in a long time, so there hasn't really been a discussion about the new album! Well, so I started one!
What do you guys think of it? Something that you're unhappy/happy with etc?
I, myself, love the album. I loved Threshold aswell, but this just takes things to higher levels. Especially Joacim's performance is spot on. Pontus proves why he fits in the band aswell. The only weak song on the album for me, is Hallowed be my name. It's not a bad song at all, I enjoy listening to it, but it's a little... boring.

Well, I find it AWESOME! Was a little wierded out by the begining of Legion, I thought to myself "uhh Knights of the 21st century again?" but I have accepted it into my heart along with the entire album, and pretty much anything Hammerfall they fking rock!

 Re: No Sacrifice, No Victory
Its a great album only downfalls are the intro of legion, the intro/main riff of "1 of a kind", there are a few riffs Im not sure about, but great album overall....oh and "My Sharona" is a fun song but that's it Im still not sure if I like it or not haha Forgot to mention the LONG LONG intro for "Between 2 Worlds"! so I have minor complains for songs but overall they are all great songs! Great album overall 9/10 IMO

Haven't bought it yet actually but the little I've heard sounded pretty good. What really suprised me is the new strenght and power in Joacim's voice, especially in hte more high pitched parts.

 Re: No Sacrifice, No Victory
Awesome album, bought it the first day Had to reserve it first because here in the netherlands they only order 1 or 2 disks but the four of us all bought one So we had let them order the disk a week before it came out. And luckely there really were 4 disk waiting for us =D Back 2 the cd: Really awesome, most songs are really great and heavy and Joacims voice is really strong. Between two worlds is really great but the intro is a little bit long. And My Sharona really turned out well as a cover:)

 Re: No Sacrifice, No Victory
I must say I quite enjoyed the album. Although I must agree that Hallowed be my name is a bit boring indeed, but overall it's a very decent album. It doesn't reach the level of Crimson Thunder (my favourite album), though, but it's not really fair to compare those two. But there are also some sides that I'm a little concerned about. The album has a bit of a dark feel. Though I must confess that if the cover wasn't that depressing, I barely would have noticed. Maybe I'm using the wrong term, but with the previous HF-albums the overall sound was quite happy, one of the things that attracted me to HF. This time it was less, but there were some songs like that present, for example One of a kind. Something I also missed was a song like Hero's Return/Threshold/Genocide, and then I mean the bassdrum-kicks. Only in the middle of One of a kind such a rhythm can be heard. By the way I bought two copies of the album on the first day in Holland, one for me and one for a friend of mine. The guy I got them from always has about five CDs on the first day when HF has a new release. It was the digipack-version, sadly. I don't like digipacks, it gets folded very easily and you can't replace parts like with a jewelcase. I only mention the negative sides, but these were the only ones I could find, there are so much good things about it, and I don't want to take the time to mention them all! By the way: Pontus is a great replacement for Stefan IMO. Sorry for the long post!

 Re: No Sacrifice, No Victory
Great album, sounds just like Hammerfall I also think that the intros of Legion and Between two worlds are boring and I usually skip them, but I don't mind. Hallowed be my name is one of my favorites in the album, so it works for me I agree Andreas that the "happy sound" has changed but I don't think it's a negative thing. Songs like Bring the hammer down and No sacrifice, no victory are different what you might hear in the radio and that's basically why I like Hammerfall

I don't really think it is a negative thing, I mean it can evolve in that direction. The last thing I want is a very dark, depressive HammerFall-album! I always liked their positive approach in all the aspects of their music, that's why I started to like them.

 Re: No Sacrifice, No Victory
There music might sound a little dark and mysterious. But every song has it's own twist. The new album sounds really raw and heavy. So one album that is this dark is not to bad, after all they have released a couple of "happy" albums. Mix them with No Sacrifice, No Victory (Glory, in Russia) and you will have the perfection and balance you need.
