 this is me
Let me tell you who I am. As a fan of the 80 metal agenda where music spoke for those who it needed to. I am a not a big fan of anything real current so in a way I stay in the that era. I however do not just listen to only metal. I enjoy everything from Billy Joel, Transiberian Orchestra to something that is current like Toby, Keith and Disturbed.
But when I heard a cover by Hammerfall doing a Twisted Sister Classice( I hate that word) doing "your gonna make it" I was blown away they are so good at giving each song there own twist but, keeping the initial sound of the original I wanted to hear more.
I bought there album with all covers and have to say that every song is great for an all cover album they are really deserving of being known as one of the best bands going.
I keep my music simple if it sounds good and is written well then the band is on my cd tracks I listen to. my tasted have changed but, my roots to metal have not, because even country music has something to say not all of it is depressing in fact most of the songs are pretty good. Now I realize I am writing this on a forum about a band who probably does little to do with this type of music but, thats ok.
Now a little about me. I am originally from the midwest growing up on music like Twisted Sister, Ratt, WASP, Motley Crue and the video generation. I believe I like a lot of bands because they were on videos and no where on the radio so bands like Grim Reaper, Loudness, Abatuar, Testament, all were on video before they ever made a station lineup if ever. Music is my release and so is Fishing, creating Flash animations, graphic design and web page design.
anyway that is me....forever a SMF

 Re: this is me
Now THAT is what I call a proper introduction! Thank you! Welcome here, have fun and bring life to this new forum! Maybe I'm just a bit stupid on a saturday morning but does SMF anything? It somehow reminds me of "Smurf" And if 1984 is your year of birth, then be welcome even more for being born in the best year of all!

 Re: this is me
Welcome the the board. As for the "1984" Here in America alot of good metal bands were just starting to come to being popular ( like Twisted Sister)that's my guess for the sig as for smf it's a Twisted Sister thing thier fan clubs was SMF (Sick Mother Frackers)(you get the point while I keep it clean) so welcome I hope you like HF's music and as a 30+ year old metal fan there is hope for good music just ask me and maybe you'll get a list lol. Anyway welcome

 Re: this is me
the name comes from "1984" is when heavy metal began what I mean is that is when bands starting to get signed and there a long time history of metal persay. As for the Smf part well Twisted Sister is my all time favorite band so the two together make a good namesake. Not meant to be anymore then that, I figured with the reference on the "Were gonna make it" song that alot of people would get that.
So thank you for the welcome notes
long live metal.. as it destroys what is the wasteland of bad music...
