HammerFall - Metro, Chicago - 15th March 2010
I just got back from my trip to the USA, and as promised I shall post a little review and some pictures

The lighting wasn't that good tho, so I don't have that many great pictures.
My friend and I had bought VIP tickets for the show (because they are so cheap

) so I made sure to bring my copy of No Sacrifice No Victory and Beyond The Gates, hoping to get them signed (which I did). Everyone with a VIP ticket also got handed out a poster before the meet & greet that we could get signed, nice! Now I must buy a frame for it

When we were waiting in line, we started talking with some other people that were waiting as well, and there was a guy who came all the way from Florida who was quite impressed when he heard I came from Belgium. He thought it was so cool, and asked if I knew how to pronounce their names (he had been looking on the internet for an hour the day before and could not find it) so I taught him how to

And he was apparently so enthusiastic about it that he told all the guys "she came all the way from BELGIUM for you guys!!!"

We then had our picture taken with the band, and then it was time for the concert...
We still got a nice front row spot, and then it was time for Powerglove. We did not know the band, but talk about an unexpected and pleasant surprise

The opening song Tetris (yes, the tetris tune) made the show for me, I love it! And the outfits, haha super awesome! Must be one of the best support acts I've seen in a long time.
The HammerFall concert was awesome, alas the stage props were missing of course, but that didn't really disturb me

I was very happy they played The Dragon Lies Bleeding live, that has to be one of my favourite HammerFall songs ever so I didn't really mind that I had to miss Natural High... (I'm not good at remembering setlists so please don't ask me to type it down here).
At one point during the show Joacim started mentioning how people had traveled far to come to this concert, and he mentions a few places in the US... and then I hear: "there is one girl who even came all the way from Belgium!" and see him pointing at me (coz we were front row) so woo, I got special mentioning
After the show one of the plectrums had fallen in the front stage, and the nice security guy gave it to me (we think because everyone else was grabbing for it and I just held my hand out asking for it), so yay I finally have a HammerFall plectrum as well
I had a super awesome evening there, and my entire vacation was just wonderful as well. Pity it was over so soon...
All my pictures from the trip are in one folder, so you'll find the pictures of HammerFall along with other stuff over here:
